Who wants to know?
As a mission-driven organization, putting "people over profit" or however you'd like to say it - I'll say focused on societal and/or global goals - how are you keeping yourself honest. Traditional evaluations taken may bend the focus to the internal, unwittingly focusing you on the wrong metrics. However, things can get very complicated very quickly when you try to capture everything all at once - the internal and external.
Think of it as a continuum - you ought to capture elements of both, but you've got to make a choice in terms of which direction you need to lean in at any given time.
Who wants to know what? And by when? Let that be your guide. And be strategic in how you go about answering those questions.
