A word on the word "performance"

Why do we perform? Performance is done to achieve a certain outcome. We don't just perform for the sake of it. Especially when it comes to business.

Within the field of Human Performance Technology, performance is understood to be about both the activity itself and the outcome of that activity. 

Outcomes are what bring about desired results. For business owners. Stakeholders. Investors. Employees. Customers. Did I leave anyone out?
